Collaboration VR
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Showcased at Infosys Confluence 2017 and TEDx SOMA 2017 Collaboration VR is a cross-platform (Oculus Rift / HTC VIVE) shared VR experience in aims to replace teleconference / WebEx meetings with a much more efficient and engaging form of collaboration. Up to (4) users can meet remotely within a virtual space, and using an interactive tablet can present 2D slide shows, videos, 3D models, trigger animations, and load entire 360 environments for immersive data visualization.
Responsibilities: Creative Lead, research and development, UX / UI, 3D modeling/animation, 360 image/video compositing and editing, Particle FX, Unity integration

Tutorials
We have noticed that many users can get easily overwhelmed when trying VR for the first time, no matter how simple the control scheme. I created a tutorial that steps the user through the process of learning the Rift Touch controls using text instructions attached to the users controller with synched voiceover audio (recorded in house). The required buttons and fingers flash white for further guidance. Once the user completes a task, triggered sound fx gives the user feedback of accomplishment.
Topics covered:
How to Teleport
How to Annotate on your surroundings
How to Interact with the Tablet
Interactive Tablet Display
The user can teleport to pre-defined locations. They can then take a seat at the conference table by selecting an open seat. Each seat has an interactive panel display that acts as a means of control that can open 2D slide show presentations, 3D models, or 360 environments.
3D Mode
The user can load 3D models from a local repository, view cutaways at complex machinery, trigger animations, and even spin the models around by aiming and dragging the laser pointer.
Interactive Panels
The user can flip through image in a slide show, and load different videos.
Annotation
You can draw and annotate on the glass wall partition / virtual white board, on post-it notes, or the 360 cube maps to get your point across or to highlight something of interest to fellow members in the shared room.
