Hot Wheels Labs Animation

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Freelance animation for Hot Wheels YouTube channel. I created the chalkboard animations for 10 episodes to help explain the laws of physics to kids using Hot Wheels cars and experiments as examples. Topics include: friction, aerodynamics, trajectory, combustion engines, trajectory, etc. A few of the videos have over 14 million hits.

REMITTANCE Short Film

PROJECT OVERVIEW

I was co-writer with my sister Maritte Go (Writer / Director / Producer), and Broderick Engelhard (Writer / Director of Photography) for “REMITTANCE” - HBO APA Visionaries Short Film Finalist and Jury Award winner for Best Film at Cinematografo International Film Festival. HBO APAV is an initiative that seeks to lead new conversations about diversity and representation. It is a short film competition that provides emerging directors of Asian and/or Pacific Islander descent the opportunity to showcase their work. The theme is centered around the concept of “home” and what that might mean to us.

Remittance tells the story of a Filipino cruise ship worker who receives a call informing her that her son is in the hospital. The film is up close and personal to my family, it is about growing up and seeing our mother’s hardships and sacrifices to make her family succeed. All my aunts had to scrape together all the money they could to send our mom to medical school. My mom moved to the States with my dad, knowing no one, to become a doctor. She worked very hard to be able to support our family here and our family back in the Philippines. So many people depend on her. She’s superwoman.

Seeing our mom cry because she can’t be near her sisters or parents was a tough experience for us growing up. She’s made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us so that we can eat and pursue a future that was better than theirs.

I made my acting debut and have a non-speaking role in the film along with a few of my family members. Remittance is streaming on demand via HBO Go, and HBO Now. I also created the movie poster for it.
